It's good that Anet listens people after for example banning someone. I was little worried if they can just ban and make a mistake accidentally but don't fix it.

This is the third person I've seen banned in error today. I find it pretty disturbing. I understand that nothing in infallible, but this still bothers me. I posted in another thread that I will often give away items to random low level players. Will Anet assume that I'm eBaying these items since I'm getting nothing in return?

He’s like the righteous man Job. Here we are falsely accusing him of badness, and yet we are the ones at fault!

In retrospect it just wasn't very logical for Anet to make a big red "Ban Player" button...hey maybe that's why the prices reset someone accidently hit the "Reset Merchant Prices" button.
Maybe their "easy button" from Staples has a random effect?

Anyway, congrats on getting your account back. I'm sure I'd freak if that happened to me.
Any lawyer will tell you, you never give up your right to sue anyone, any company, for any thing. And language in a contract that says you can not hold a company liable does not remove that right to sue the company. Think of what a mess that would cause. You could engage in any behavior thinkable but - because you asserted that right in a contract - never be liable for your actions.

As a for-instance, lets say that I have a swimming pool in my backyard. I post a sign on it saying "not responsible for accidents." That doesn't protect me from lawsuits.

It can - but not necessarily - work in my favor as a way to mitigate damages but the "not responsible" sign would not protect me from lawsuits. Even if I asked every guest to sign a release from damages, there would be no bar to lawsuits. (However, it would sure as heck make it more difficult for the guests to win, I admit).

Ehh... yeah technicially you are right. You could sue, but you definately wouldn't win against a.net's legal team if you did (not without spending a crap load of money yourself). Also, that kind of law suit seems morally repugnent to me.

I wasn't suggesting a lawsuit - that wouldn't make sense because of the amounts of money involved. Instead, I was just correcting an earlier comment about how lawsuits work. Probably should have just left it alone since it was off-topic anyway. I guess it was just because I've seen all these comments saying "you can't sue" because of some wording from Anet in the user's agreement.

What's worrisome is that you might do something innocent that gets you banned, like buying from the wrong person or accepting/giving an item for free. How are you supposed to tell what's okay and who's okay?
